Review and range test of the Retevis RT45P & RT645P walkie talkie. This is another Motorola T80 / T82 look-alike from Retevis, but how well does it perform?🛒 RT45P on Retevis Website — 00:00 — Introduction02:35 — Overview & Unboxing16:49 — Range Test (vs Motorola XT420)20:23 — Conclusions — Should You Buy It?Retevis have really ventured into different styles of radios in the last year or two. Gone are their plain black radios with the metal plate behind the battery. We now have a choice of styles, colours, IP ratings and functionality. Are the new radios as good as the old though? In my experience, it seems to be a bit of a gamble, with some of the new style radios being great performers and others being a bit of a letdown.Retevis RT45P Features:• 16 channels with 121 Privacy Codes (CTCSS/DCS)• VOX function for handsfree operation• IP67 Waterproof (tested to 1m for 30 minutes)• Dual-Channel Watch Feature• 10 Call Tones to Allow • Clear Always On LCD Display• Room Monitor Function• Built-in LED torch• SOS Siren to attract attention• USB-C Charging The RT45P is, overall, a nice radio to use with excellent audio clarity and lovely build quality. It’s not without its problems, though.@Fred in the Shed did a range test on these and got much better performance. It really shows that PMR446 is massively dependent on your surroundings, elevation and the type of stone you’re asking the signal to penetrate.#retevis #rt45p #rangetestMy Production MusicI use Artlist for most of the production music you hear on TDCatTech.
